RAVE Sports Repair Services
Please note that in order for RAVE Sports to accept repair shipments, you must have a Repair Authorization number in order for us to receive your product and we require the RPR number to be written on the shipping box. If there is not an RPR number on the box, we have to refuse the package and it will be returned.
Before contacting RAVE Sports for a repair of your product, please follow this checklist to determine if your product can be repaired:
Does your product have a small hole which you have already found?
If yes, you can purchase a repair kit, as well as
download instructions on using the repair kit.
To find and patch a hole:
1. Inflate the product and locate the leak by spraying the tube with mild, soapy water.
2. Determine the hole size and cut a patch 1 to 2 inches wider than the diameter of the hole.
Make sure all corners of the patch are rounded.
3. Deflate the product and clean the patch and the area around the hole with rubbing alcohol. Let dry.
4. READ AND UNDERSTAND THE WARNINGS ON THE GLUE CONTAINER.
5. Apply glue to the patch and the area around the hole. Let the glue dry until it is tacky to the touch. (Approximately 1-2 minutes.)
6. Lay the product on a flat, hard surface and apply the patch. Working from the center to the outer edge,
rub out any air bubbles between the patch and the product.
7. Let the patch dry for 24 hours before attempting to inflate the product.
Did your product tear through a seam? If yes, your product cannot be repaired and is not covered under the manufacturer’s warranty because the tear is not the actual seam of the product. You can also purchase a new tube and other parts.
Does your product leak but you are unsure where?
Check the stem valve on the product. Sometimes a leak is caused by your stem valve being loose. To tighten the valve use a
needle nose pliers and insert into the valve with the tips of the pliers on opposite sides of the cross brace.
Tighten until the valve halves are snug against the fabric.
CAUTION: Do not over tighten. Over-tightening can crack the valve nut causing air leakage.
**PLEASE NOTE: It is normal for the air pressure within the tube to fluctuate depending on air and water temperatures. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the air pressure in your product accordingly. To avoid damage on extremely hot days it may be necessary to check and release the air pressure from your product throughout the day. A fully inflated product on warm land will lose some of its pressure when placed in cold water. Let the tube acclimate to the cooler water temperature and add some air if necessary to obtain proper firmness.
If you are unable to find the leak, or have other questions regarding a possible repair, please contact us to Request Repair Authorization (RPR) at 800.659.0790.
